…and MORE Holiday celebrations (part 3)

posted Wednesday November 22, 2006

The fun never ends.  Here are even more Winter festivals, celebrations, and good times.

Copper Mountain
December 16 – 30, 2006
High Alpine Holidays – Visit Santa and his reindeer, ooh and aah at the torchlight parade, ice skate, marvel at Sven the Entertainer performing his juggling and fire tricks, check out the dog sleds, and more.  (click on link for schedule of events) – Torchlight Parade on December 24.

100th Birthday PartyGranby
December 9 – 10, 2006
Granby’s 100th Birthday and Holiday Celebration – Friday night enjoy carolers and costumed pedestrians on Granby’s main street, cheer for the parade of lights as Santa lights the town tree and all the businesses officially light their stores. Then follow the crowd to the community center for visits with Santa, food, and the largest birthday cake Granby has ever seen!

Parker
December 9, 2006 - 2 to 6 PM Downtown
Christmas Carriage Parade and Tree Lighting – The parade of horse-drawn carriages, wagons, and stagecoaches is at 2 PM, followed by live music, a petting zoo, pony rides, baby reindeer and pictures with Santa.  Follow that with live music, complimentary cookies and hot chocolate at the Mayor’s Tree Lighting at 5 PM.Chanukah Menorah

Snowmass
December 15, 2006
  at sundown
Festival of Lights (Chanukah) – The menorah will be displayed in the Silvertree Hotel lobby with plenty of dreidels & gelt for everyone to enjoy.  We assume that’s the chocolate kind (our personal favorite).

December 23, 2006
Torchlight Parade – Moms, Dads and Kids ages 8 and older are invited to be part of the trail of light down Snowmass’s slopes, or just enjoy watching the spectacle.  Call (970) 923.0560 for more information.

We’re saving the New Years festivities for later…drop by again in December for some “ring out the old, ring in the new” ideas.
