Building 613

Do you find yourself wondering why you never see all the “wildlife” others keep reporting?  If you do spot an animal or bird, are you unable to figure out if it was a wild turkey,  a ptarmigan, or perhaps a jackalope?  My friend, you need to take a Wildlife Watch class!

Although these classes are usually offered for a small fee, this particular class is FREE!  There is an optional resource book available for $10, however.

Pronghorn near Great Sand DunesLearn to select and use binoculars to help you better enjoy your “spottings”.  Learn skills to help you see, hear, and locate wildlife.  Learn about good places to view wildlife and how to use maps and field guides.

Reservations are required, and class size is limited, so don’t delay!  Call (303) 289-0930, or send an email to wildlife.watch@state.co.us with the number of people in your party, your names, and daytime & evening phone numbers.

BYOB (bring your own binoculars) if you have them — but they can loan you a pair if you don’t.  Don’t forget your sunscreen and layers of clothing.  Yes, you WILL be outside!  (Very little wildlife can be found in a classroom, unless you count that weird guy sitting in the back of the room).
