Beauty of the Beast – Tigers Facing Extinction (Denver)

Tigers. One of our world’s most beautiful creatures faces serious threats to its survival, due largely to poaching.
In the early 90′s, Time Magazine and others declared that tigers were “doomed” and predicted near extinction by the year 2000, according to Save the Tiger Fund. Although the fate of the tigers has improved since that article was written, they still face threats from humans.
Join wildlife artist Francesca Owens for this special preview night of a traveling visual arts exhibition. Tonight will feature the showing of two short movies:  “Save the Tiger†featuring Colorado school children interviewing Wildlife Conservations Society’s Siberian Tiger Project Coordinator in Russia, Dr. John Goodrich, and “Tigers Facing Extinction†about the making of the series.
Browse the gallery to see Francesca Owens’ art. Ms. Owens works with field biologist from around the world. Using their personal stories and photo images, their stories are retold depicting the wild tigers’ fate of becoming extinct. Click here for more information about this art work.
The public is invited to this free Preview Night with beverages, snacks and sweets!
