Colorado Dragon Boat Festival (Denver)

The diverse cultures of Asia and the Pacific come to life at this one-of-a-kind Dragon Boat Festival held at Sloan’s Lake Park. The main event is the Dragon Boat Racing.  Dragon boat racing originated in China centuries ago, and will be a demonstration sports during the 2008 Beijing Olympics. You can watch 48 adult teams vie for the coveted Dragon Cup, plus 8 youth division teams hone their skills on the water.
The Performing Arts stage will feature a wide variety of entertainment, including Taiko drummers, a Mongolian contortionist, Hula, singers and dancers showcasing traditional and interpretive performances from Cambodia, China, Thailand, Mongolia, the Philipines, Indonesia, Polynesia, Vietnam, Japan, the Hmong culture, and more. 2006 Performers
