CowParade – 150 colorful cows come to Denver
July 22 – October 20, 2006
When I was growing up, Denver was sometimes referred to as a Cow Town. Our relatives in St. Louis thought we rode horses to go downtown, and that cows grazed in our back yards.
Well, Denver is going to be home to 150 very interesting cows for a while. As you travel around downtown, Cherry Creek, Stapleton, DIA, and the Children’s Museum, you may notice some colorful cows hanging out. Seek out cows with names such as COLORado Cow, Rhapsody in Moo, Rocky Mootain High, and everyone’s favorite, Cowabunga Dude! Click here for an “inventory” of cows and locations.
Why are these cows hanging out around town? On November 10, the cows will come home to be auctioned off live at the National Western Stock Show Stadium as well as Online to benefit Denver Children’s Museum, Cherry Creek Arts Festival, the Denver Zoo, and The Eagle Fund of the Denver Foundation.
