Puppetry Workshop (Montrose)

posted Friday August 25, 2006

September 9, 2006

Senor WencesDid you ever draw a face on your thumb and forefinger, and pretend it was a puppet?

Shari Lewis and Lamb ChopWere you a fan of Sheri Lewis and her sock puppet, Lamb Chop?

Do you do Muppet voice impersonations for your friends?

Is your favorite movie Being John Malkovich?

Even if the answer to all of these questions is “no”, perhaps you still have a secret wish to create a puppet and to act out a part with your creation.  Now’s your chance!

The Puppetree Theatre will sponsor a puppetry workshop from 10 AM to Noon in the Montrose Library meeting room.  Puppeteer Ann Sturgeon will lead participants in creating our very own Sock Puppets from materials provided (even the socks!).  Then, you and your puppet can perform in several short puppet plays — with scripts provided!  What more could you ask for?

If you already have a puppet, bring it along.  The only prerequisites for this free workshop are interest and enthusiasm.  :-)
