Free Stargazing (Boulder)
Friday Nights:Â September 1 – December 8, 2006
Sommers-Bausch Observatory invites us to peer into one of their large telescopes or tripod-mounted binoculars on most Friday nights (when the weather is cooperative). Stay as long as 2 or 3 hours and ask questions of the Grad students, professors, or other experts. They’ll help you take a closer look at planets Jupiter, Uranus, and Neptune, plus you can have a debate about the recently-demoted Pluto.Â
“Oooo” and “aaah” at galaxies and nebulae!
Â
Not sure where to find your favorite constellation? Consult the observatory’s 40-inch Planisphere (star-wheel), thought to be the world’s largest!
